A CURRICULUM
YOU CAN BUILD ON.

Each chapter receives several months of focused study before the cycle moves on. Open a position to explore its role.

Mount

Work through control, transitions, and escapes when one person is on top of the torso.

Side Mount

+

Study control from the side, ways to recover position, and connections to other positions.

Guard

+

Develop bottom-position options and ways to pass the legs from the top.

Half Guard

Explore the transitions, controls, and recoveries around a trapped leg.

Back Mount

Develop back control and the defensive skills needed to escape it.

Leg Locks

Study lower-body submission positions, control, and defensive awareness.

Standing

Connect standing engagements, takedowns, and the transition to ground positions.

Rapid Mastery Drills, Focus Sparring Exercises, and Fight Simulation Drills help connect technique and timing. Sparring participation is voluntary.

Class structure follows Gracie University’s Master Cycle model. Ask us about the current chapter and local sessions.

Master Cycle explores sport and self-defense applications, including how the possibility of strikes changes decisions. Competition is optional; continued learning is the focus.

Do I need a blue belt to join?+

Gracie University lists a Gracie Combatives belt or higher as the entry requirement. If you have trained elsewhere, our instructors will discuss the right placement with you. Master Cycle is not available for free trial booking.

Is sparring mandatory?+

No. Master Cycle includes controlled practice and sparring opportunities, but sparring participation is voluntary. Discuss your comfort level and training goals with your instructor.

Do I need to compete?+

No. Our local program makes competition optional. Students can focus on continued technique development and self-defense applications.

Which chapter is the school studying now?+

Contact us for the current chapter and Master Cycle sessions. The curriculum moves through focused positional cycles, so the training topic changes over time.
